Can you tell me
something about the area?
The base has two main entrances, one
borders the town of Manhattan to it's east, and Junction
City to it's west.. Manhattan Kansas is where you will
find Kansas State University.. IMHO. Junction City is more
your typical outside the front gate type town. Junction
City also seems to be more military friendly in my
opinion.. Seems Junction City caters to the military
base more than Manhattan. If you prefer cultural
activities then stay in Manhattan. If you prefer more
sub culture activities stay in Junction City.
DIRECTIONS FROM
JUNCTION CITY To Fort Riley
TAKE I-70 TO EXIT 303.
PROCEED TO K-18 GO NORTH PAST 12TH STREET GATE, TO
WALNUT STREET. TURN LEFT AND GO TO RILEY BLVD. THEN TURN
LEFT AND GO TO FORT RILEY GATE.

MANHATTAN To Fort Riley
TAKE FT. RILEY BLVD WEST
THROUGH OGDEN TO FT. RILEY INSPECTION GATE.

What Airport do you
recommend?
When you fly into smaller airports it
would probably connect from a larger airport, and you would
then be paying for that connecting flight. Topeka has a
small airport. Unless you live
close enough to drive, I recommend Flying into Kansas
City Then renting a car.

any reason there is an emergency at home and you need to
contact your soldier, please call the
RED CROSS
through your local chapter, hospital, or law enforcement
agency. On a personal note,
if you are civillian visting Fort Riley you can eat anywhere on Fort Jackson without an Id, but you
will not be able to buy gas, or shop the PX or Commissary.
